Shawn’s parents invited us to spend a week with them and Shawn’s sister Stephanie in Hawaii the week before Christmas. It was one of those last minute deals, so we only had about 3 days to get everything buttoned up at work and home before we were flying out. We stayed in a condo by Waikiki Beach and got to see all the sights on the island of Oahu, including the Polynesian Cultural Center (where Shawn insulted the Fire Dancer), BYU Hawaii, the Laie Temple, the Dole Pineapple Factory (where Shawn insulted pineapple), North Shore, Matsumoto’s Shaved Ice, Honolulu Tower, Pearl Harbor and Waikiki Beach. I think our favorite experiences were viewing the coral reefs from a submarine and swimming with the dolphins and wholphin (a whale-dolphin) at the Sea Life Park, pictures below.
