Gymnastics Meet

In January, Janell signed Lizzy up for a Mommy and Me Gymnastics class at the local rec center. They go every Tuesday and Lizzy has absolutely loved it. A few weeks ago all of the gymnastics students had their annual Gymnastics Meet to show their families all they'd learned. When Lizzy started she was so shy but by the time of the meet she was so comfortable with everything that she did it in front of a crowd and did great.

May Update

Wow, another month has flown by. The biggest thing that happened in May was our trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa Bailey. The whole week we were gone, Lizzy was asking us to let her use the potty and so we promised we'd start potty training as soon as we got back. Sunday morning when Shawn told her we were going home that day she immediately said, "When we get back to our house, can I use the potty? Will you teach me daddy, please?" It was the sweetest little request ever and so as soon as we got back we bought her a little potty and let her use the potty as much as she wanted to. The first few days she was super interested and wanted to do it lots but since then the interest has come and gone.

A few weeks ago, Lizzy was helping Shawn clean the garage. They were both sweeping and Shawn set his broom against the wall for a minute and then bent down but the broom fell down and hit him in the cheek right as he was bending down. He wanted to just finish what he was doing before he went inside to see if there was a mark, so he just asked Lizzy if she could see an Owie on his cheek. Every time he asked her, she just looked at his face and said, "Oh, Sorry Daddy" but wouldn't ever say anymore. He finally had to just figure it looked pretty bad since he couldn't get her to say anything else.

We've done lots of other fun things in May, including spending lots of time at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens and Farm Country, which is Lizzy's current favorite thing to do. We also took cousin Max and hit the Hogle Zoo on Memorial Day, which was so much fun. A few weeks ago we played our first full game of UNO with Lizzy. She still needs some help but she's picking it up very well.

Bana and Papa

In early May, we flew out to Philadelphia and spent 4-5 days visiting Grandma and Grandpa Bailey on their mission. It was awesome spending some time with them after not seeing them for over a year and it was great to see what it's like for them on their mission. Lizzy warmed up to them pretty quickly and had a great time. Here are a few pictures of our time there:
