One evening right before bed, Lizzy was sitting on the edge of the tile playing with a toy when she fell backwards and hit her head really hard on the tile. The sound of her head hitting the floor was so horrible. Luckily, she didn't cry too long and it didn't seem to bother her after that. She had a big red spot on her head that night, but it was gone by the next morning. Later that morning we were shocked to find that Lizzy's first teeth had finally broken through. We were starting to think her teeth were never going to come in and can't help but wonder if the bump on her head helped them finally break through. We hope this isn't what it takes for all of her future teeth. Here are pictures taken that morning in an attempt to get them on camera.
She thought it was a game
Just before hitting 8-months Lizzy starting making the da-da sound. At first it was just a new sound she made, but then she started to use it to mean a bunch of different things she wanted. She now says variations of it like Dad and Daddy which are so cute, and sometimes she even says it when she means Daddy. She tries so hard to mimic what we say and communicate with us and is making new sounds every day. She has started to say ta, ba, sa, ga and has even said ma-ma once.
Currently, Lizzy's favorite things are dancing to music (she loves The Tiki Room), chasing her dad around the family room and reading books. We read one of her books before bed every night and it is so much fun to see her face light up when we open a new book. Here's some pictures from the last couple of weeks.
Lizzy and her dad standing by Grandpa's float in the Swiss Days Parade
Watching the parade. She loves sitting on my shoulders.
This is Lizzy's face when we turned on The Tiki Room song
This is where Lizzy sits in her bumbo to patiently wait while we make her bottle. She loves looking around the corner at us.
Just being cute
She loves to smile for the camera

And this is how Lizzy feels about Saturday's game

Congrats on the teeth! I'm so glad you got some pictures of the babies together at the BYU party. So cute. Lizzy's smile is so darling! She is so cute looking around the corner..what personality!
ps...she's gonna love Disneyland! I hope the actual Tiki Room doesn't scare her.
The three amigos is my favorite but the bumper cars runs a close second.
