April was a great month for us. We had an awesome Easter weekend that included a trip to Bear Lake. Lizzy has spent lots of time with her cousins and is learning new things so quickly. She has begun to have irrational fears that every animal, cartoon character and insect she knows are coming to get her. One night she had a nightmare that she was being attacked by bees in her bed and it took her a while to calm back down from that. She still checks her bed for bees every night before going to bed.
Lizzy loves music and dancing. Currently her favorite songs are: "Rumor Has It" by Adele, "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People and "Talk Like a Pirate" from Peter and the Neverland Pirates. Lizzy has now spent 2 weeks in the Nursery by herself since we have moved on to new church responsibilities. We talked to her about being in there by herself for a few weeks before we were released but we have been surprised by how well she has done without us. She loved to help us with the lesson when we were in there and I think she really likes helping the other teachers. She really loves Nursery.
A couple of weeks ago, we were both asked to give prayers in Sacrament meeting. When Janell went up to say the Opening Prayer Lizzy was really upset and wanted to go up to say a prayer with her. So, when it was time for Shawn to say the Closing Prayer he offered that Lizzy could go up with him as long as she was quiet and good. However, as soon as he started saying the prayer Lizzy tried to grab the microphone away from him and when he stopped her from doing that she started yelling, "Just Me, Just Me, Just Me!" At that point that was Lizzy's way of saying she wanted to do something all by herself though she now says, "By Myself". Luckily, we think most of the people there thought it was amusing.
Here are some of our other favorite conversations with Lizzy this month:
Shawn: Do you know where Mommy is?
Lizzy: At home!
Shawn: Nope, she's at work.
Lizzy: Let's go found her!
Shawn: Okay's it's time for me to go to work.
Lizzy: No, it's Family Time! (Lizzy loves our weekly Family Night though she still calls it Family Time.)
Shawn: Okay Lizzy, we can go to the Gardens, Farm Country, Trafalga, a park or Costco. Where do you want to go?
Lizzy (with no hesitation): Costco!
Recently, Lizzy's cousins were playing in her room and asked who that picture was on her bookcase. She told them, "That's Stephanie. She's a Missionary!" (She doesn't really understand what a missionary is but she loves to talk about how Aunt Stephanie and Grandma and Grandpa Bailey are missionaries.)
Lizzy is currently spending one day a week at her cousin's house while Janell goes into work. She tells us the most entertaining stories about what she does when we're not around. Recently, when I asked her what she did with Max she said, "I sat on Max's tummy. He not like it. He pushed me away. I crying."

Awesome! She looks adorable in her dress! Wish we had gotten a picture for Grandma of all the girls in their dresses. The big question...can she peddle the bike? She looks like she can reach just fine. I've never thought to get ours down for her to try, Max just pushes with his feet!
