We started July with a big, extended family 4th of July party at our house. We had just over 20 people at the party, and did the typical 4th of July things; had a huge BBQ dinner, ran through the sprinklers and had a water fight that spilled over into many of the originally non-participating adults, did Snap Pops (since fireworks were banned in our neighborhood), played with glow ropes and enjoyed homemade ice cream while watching the Thanksgiving Point fireworks from our backyard. The next night we had a 2nd party at the Passmore’s house with all the leftover BBQ meat and did our own fireworks show.
Later in July, we rented a pavilion at a nice new park up Provo Canyon for the July Birthday Party for Janell, Rob and Dave Passmore. We had a potluck dinner and played some ultimate Frisbee and then mostly worked on not getting heat exhaustion until the sun went behind the mountains. It was a fun party, except for the hornet’s nest under one of our picnic tables. Poor 5 year old Anna got stung.
