The day before Father's Day Lizzy hit 6 months so we had a weekend of celebration. Friday we went to visit Lizzy's Great Grandma and Grandpa Jones in Idaho. Grandpa Jones' mom was also named Elizabeth Jones so they were excited to have another Elizabeth.
Saturday morning we gave Lizzy her birthday presents, which she loved opening. She had no problem figuring out how to pull the wrapping off, though she had no interest in the present and just played with the paper for the rest of the morning.
Saturday afternoon we went to a birthday swim party. It was only the second time Lizzy has gone swimming. She didn't care too much about the water but man she looked awesome in her swimsuit and sunglasses.
Saturday evening we went to a family party where Lizzy got to hang out with her other cousins.
Sunday morning Janell and Lizzy made a nice Father's Day breakfast. Lizzy very graciously offered to help me open my presents and then she played a song on the piano while Janell sang.
Lizzy is at such an amazing age now. She can sit up pretty well and loves to play with her toys, walk around in her walker and bounce in her exer-saucer. She wants to bounce all the time. She tries to bounce in her walker and if I'm holding her and not bouncing her she kicks my leg like she's spurring a horse.
She does great with tummy time and creeps just a little bit but doesn't get up on her knees while she is awake. At night she sleeps face down, up on her knees, though. Her preferred method of getting around is to scoot on her back. She has now gotten so good at this that she will scoot around in circles all over the room.
It appears that Lizzy is starting to get her teeth so she is constantly gnawing on things. She can remove her binky, put it down, chew on something for a while, and then grab her binky and put it right back into her mouth whenever she wants. Lately, she will even hold the toy and the binky in the same hand in different fingers and go back and forth between them.
Thanks to the Sleep Lady Shuffle, we are making progress on Lizzy's sleep schedule. She usually goes to bed around 7:30-8:00pm and sleeps until about 6:30-7:00am, most of the time without waking up. Having this extra time to get things done and catch up on sleep has been awesome. Lizzy has just started to eat solid foods. She never cared for rice or oatmeal but has liked everything else we've fed her (just peaches, sweet potatoes, and beans so far).
Since Lizzy was first born, Janell has sang to her and it has a great effect on comforting her. She loves a song to fall asleep to and now will even sing to herself as she gets tired, which is so cute. My favorite time of day is Family Music Time when we play some Disney and Primary songs on the iPod and dance and sing with Lizzy. She really enjoys this time and gives us the best giggles during it.
Now that she's getting better naps and nightly sleep, Lizzy has become pretty independent. She is happy scooting around on the floor or just playing with her toys for long periods of time. She is such a happy baby and just smiles and giggles all the time.

Cute as always. You've gotten much better at updating since Lizzy came along. Keep them coming! I love showing the kids the pictures.
