3 Expos and a Farewell

January was a fun and eventful month for us. We hit 3 Expos, which was a good way to get out and have a place that Lizzy can run around during the long winter months. Lizzy really loved the Auto Show and test drove about 20 different cars. She also had a great time riding a bear at the Family Winterfest:

We got Lizzy a pink giraffe balloon animal at this expo and when we got home we showed her how if she rubbed it on the carpet it would then stick to the wall. If I was Lizzy, I think my next thought would be to grab the other balloons we have sitting around and try it with them. Not Lizzy. She went straight for the big guns and started rubbing herself on the carpet and then tried to stick herself to the wall. We were very impressed at this attempt.

As a 2-year old, Lizzy has her difficult times. If she doesn't want to do something it is impossible to force her but luckily most of the time she can be reasoned with. If we can find the right way to explain it to her she usually comes around, but sometimes simple things like eating lunch and getting her in the car can take a long time.

Lizzy is still talking lots. In December, her favorite way to respond was to say, "Yep, I think so" or "Nope, I don't think so". In January she changed this up and now likes responding with, "I do", or "I don't" when we ask her questions. She's always trying out new words and phrases.

For a 2-year old, she is still eating pretty well most of the time. Her current favorite foods are Mini Raviolis (she can eat a whole can), Popcorn and Fruit Snacks. We are also very grateful that she sleeps so well. Most of the time she goes straight to sleep when we put her in bed and we can go months without her ever waking us up in the middle of the night. She still sleeps in a crib and love, love, loves her bed. Her favorite thing lately is to jump on it like a trampoline.

Lizzy and Max had a jumping party together

We had the opportunity to visit the Jones' in January for Aunt Stephanie's mission farewell. Lizzy had a great time at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Lizzy's favorite activity lately is to build with her Mega Blocks. She can spend hours building castles and knocking them over.  Here's one last picture of Lizzy playing in her baby's crib with a bunch of her blocks.
