July Parties

July is definitely our favorite summer month. We kicked it off by resuming our 4th of July Party after a 2-year break while we were house-sitting. We had a lot of Janell's family to our house and had a really great time grilling, playing in the kiddie pools, doing Snap-Pops, eating Watermelon and Ice Cream Sandwiches, and dancing in the backyard before watching the Thanksgiving Point Fireworks show.

Our ward breakfast had a bike parade

Just enjoying the shade.

We did a LOT of snap pops!

Love this! What a beautiful smile!

Ali was soaking Shawn and loving it.

More "cousin" bonding

All these Kyles with the great smiles.  Love it!

The picture doesn't do it justice, but there was quite the backyard dance party.
It was fun to see the dancers with the glowing everywhere!

None of the glow pictures came out right, but you get the idea...

We also had the opportunity to have 4 of Lizzy's couins stay with us that weekend and then 2 youngest stay with us for a whole week later in the month. We hit Chuck-E-Cheese's and did our own fireworks show and then with the younger 2 we went to Janell's work party, a block party and hit every venue at Thanksgiving Point.

Our own personal fireworks show with the Bailey kids a few days later.

All spruced up to go to church together.

Loving cousin twin day.

In other big news, Grandma and Grandpa Bailey finally came home from their mission to Philadelphia so we spent a lot of time partying with them. Lizzy was also excited that we started to get a few things out of our little garden.

We have been running together quite a bit since last summer. A lot of the runs we do as a family with Lizzy in the jogging stroller and then she gets to run the last 1/4 mile with us. Surprisingly, she really likes going on runs with us and loves getting her chance to run at the end. She can now run a 1/4 mile without stopping.

At the end of July we ran the Pioneer Day Classic 10K in Provo. There was an incline they call Goliath Hill which is a 350 foot climb at the beginning. We were the only people crazy enough to run the race with a jogging stroller. We made it through but didn't do very well. Lizzy, however, won the 3-year old division for the 10K and she loved getting out and running the last distance and across the finish line.

As we were running, we were getting passed by a lot of people and were getting farther behind most of them. While we were struggling up Goliath Hill and through the rest of the race Lizzy kept yelling at us, "Catch up to the other runners! We're all alonely."

Elle ran the race too!  She rocked it.

Lizzy has picked up a lot of really funny sayings lately. Here are just a few of our favorite quotes from the last month:

 - "What's up with that?"

 - As we were leaving Grandma and Grandpa's house Lizzy saw that Shawn had 2 pairs of shoes at the door. "Dad has 2 pairs of shoes? What the heck?"

 - One night as we were reading Lizzy a bedtime story, Daddy and Lizzy were goofing off and not paying attention.
Janell's like: "You guys need to cut it out or we aren't going to finish the story."
Shawn apologized to Lizzy: "Sorry for getting you in trouble, Lizzy."

Lizzy replied: "It's not trouble, it's awesome!"
