Happiest Place 2013

This was Lizzy's fourth fall trip to Disneyland.  This year we went with Grandma, Grandpa, Dave, Erin, Seth and Peter.  We have three very favorite quotes from this trip, so watch for the stories below...

So excited to be going in to Disneyland!

So much fun to have Grandma & Grandpa come

Meeting Minnie Mouse

Quote #1:  "Cry What Out?"
One day we were talking about the Cry It Out method and how some parents will just let their kids Cry It Out at bedtime. Lizzy was pretty concerned about what she was hearing about this method of parenting and just kept asking, "Cry What Out? What do the babies cry out, Mommy? Cry What Out, Daddy?".

Beep Beep!  Comin through!

Who's the leader of the club?

It took me a minute to notice the face she's making in the mirror...

I guess we wore Grandpa out early!

Wow!  Sofia the 1st!

Watching the Pixar Parade with daddy.

Quote #2:  I want my tongue back!
Lizzy was kinda done and so we took a break and bought her a popsicle.  The lady who
sold us the popsicle warned us it was really, really cold, but...  Lizzy's tongue got way stuck
to it.  So she freaked out and yanked it off.  Yeah, it kinda took a little bit of her tongue with
it.  Yeah, she wasn't happy. A little while later she was saying I want it back.  When I
asked her what she wanted back she said, "I want my tongue back!"

She borrowed the rearview mirror on one of Mater's tractors to asses the damage.

Day #2 was Princess Day.  Lizzy got to dress up and we
spent lots of time meeting princesses.

Some quality time with Cinderella.

Curtsying with Snow White.

Even after waiting for an hour to meet princesses, Lizzy still wanted to wait another
hour to meet Tinkerbell rather than head to a ride.  She loves meeting characters!

She even curtsied to Goofy, which earned her a little fan club of the workers there...

We haven't stayed this late in the past, it was fun to see the castle all lit up.

Day 3 was a quiet day off with a visit to the beach.  It was kind of chilly
but we made Lizzy at least feel the water.

Lizzy was much happier playing in the sand.

Daddy even dug a hole to play in!

After our day at the beach, the Baileys arrived.  Yay!  Grandpa made us
Mickey Mouse pancakes for our first day in the park.

Waiting to go in.  Seth's very first time at Disneyland!

Such cute little buddies.

Character breakfast.   It was hard to get pictures.
No, I don't want to talk about it...

Playing peek a boo with Peter.

Winnie the Pooh saved things for us a bit.

Arghhh!  Pirate Island...

That's right, Peter took on the teacups...

So... originally Grandma and Shawn went together so they could spin.  They got going, but it wasn't enough for Grandma so Bailey & Shawn had to team up for round 2.

I hear there were onlookers cheering due to their velocity.  Grandma still seemed
unimpressed.  But the pictures look like she was holding on for dear life...

Sometimes it was hard to get scooters through the crowds, but it
made a great spot for the parades!

These two sure make the mouse-ears look worthwhile!
We haven't received our photo pass pictures yet, but there were a couple of digital downloads:

Only three of us hit Splash Mountain.  Grandma and I got really, really wet.

All of us on the cars ride.  Lizzy was lucky to be tall enough for some of these
big rides.  She didn't like the Matterhorn, but she loved this one!

Quote #3:  WHOAH!!!  OUT-OF-BOUNDER!!
One day we were waiting to ride the train.  We were in a special line on the side that just had a perfect view of Autopia.  (This picture is Lizzy and Shawn in this same spot later in the week.)  Shawn noticed that the cars further up on the track had been stopping.  But the workers didn't seem to know cuz they just kept sending more cars in.

After a good ten minutes you finally see some rider come jogging up the track towards the platform.  When the first employee sees him you can hear the utter shock and disbelief in his voice as he yells "WHOAH!!! OUT-OF-BOUNDER!!!"  We had too good of a view for this not to be the funniest thing we saw all week.  It's now our favorite quote.
